The Australian Government have recently announced an extension to the Business Events Grants program alongside a number of changes to the program eligibility. The following changes have been announced:
- The minimum spend amount will be reduced to $10,000
- The application deadline has been extended to 30 June 2021.

What does this mean for you?
foodpro is an approved event on the program, meaning you are eligible to apply for upfront grants to cover up to 50% of the costs associated with exhibiting.
The changes to the program means that your investment required is halved to $10,000 (was $20,000). The total expenditure may appear to be out of reach at first glance, but when you break it down, it is not. There are other expenses that can be applied apart from the cost of your stand, this includes freight and logistics, samples, printing, flights, accommodation as well as digital advertising and sponsorship. Furthermore, you are also able to combine the exhibition costs of more than one approved event to assist in reaching the expenditure.
