The PIF Supplement is used for the enrichment of Enterobacteriaceae, particularly Salmonella spp. and Cronobacter spp. in powdered infant formula with and without probiotics, ingredients for infant formula, and environmental samples of production areas. It is adapted for matrices with high level of background flora, bifidobacteria and other gram-positive bacteria.
