Jul 3, 2023

The Southern Hemisphere’s largest, longest running and most trusted food manufacturing industry event, foodpro, has announced the Victorian Government as principal event partner for the first time.

The show, which has been running for the last 50 years, will be returning after a six-year hiatus on 23-26 July 2023, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Featuring more than 380 exhibitors, the floor has now sold out.

“There’s a huge buzz in the industry about this year’s foodpro given we are making a much- anticipated return,” says foodpro Product Manager, Felicity Parker. “We will be the first Australian event in the international calendar to showcase the latest developments in food manufacturing from overseas as well as locally.

“The floor will be jam-packed with suppliers, machinery technology, ingredient producers and more including fantastic networking events and education sessions.

“Making Melbourne the home for foodpro in 2023, we are excited to showcase Victoria as a global hub for advanced and sustainable food production and are thrilled to be partnering with the Victorian Government.”

Showcasing the very best in food manufacturing and innovation, the Victorian Government is proud to be a major sponsor of foodpro 2023.

Victoria is Australia’s food and beverage manufacturing powerhouse, with sales of over $40 billion in 2021-22, representing more than 30 per cent of the national revenue. The sector exports over $9 billion in manufactured food and beverage products each year – the most of any Australian state – and employs more than 76,000 people.

The Victorian Government’s Made in Victoria 2030: Manufacturing Statement outlines a roadmap to ensure Victoria continues to be a place for advanced manufacturers to grow and thrive, including in key sectors such as food manufacturing.
